Outdoor wedding at Chris Park, Durango CO

Wedding at Chris Park

Looking for an outdoor intimate venue? Hosting a wedding at chris park in Durango, Colorado is an awesome choice! More importantly, good music and camping vibes are probably my favorite things in the world… and yes, I know that sounds super cliché, but it makes a great combination for a camping/outdoor-themed Colorado wedding! Chris Park located in the San Juan National Forest was the perfect location for Melissa and Matt’s wedding!

Some people might not think music is a big deal, especially at weddings, but I personally think music is so important!! It brings people together and gets people moving!! Melissa and Matt got married in Durango Colorado, at Chris Park! It’s located just outside of town in the San Juan National Forest. Chris Park is an awesome wedding venue for those who love the outdoors! Renting out the group camping area is an awesome way to have all your guests camp right there at the reception! There are also volleyball courts and a ton of room for activities!

If that’s the kind of venue you’re looking for, I’d love to help plan your outdoor Colorado wedding at Chris Park! Feel free to contact me!

Chris Park Wedding

When I met Melissa and Matt for the first time I was super excited that we got along so well and we able to chit chat so easily! I was equally as excited when I found out that they listen to similar music as me. I feel like any former emo/scene kids who went to warped tour get along pretty well lol. Wanna know something else I was super stoked about? They planned their wedding at a badass, secluded campground in the San Juan National Forest.

When I first got to the Airbnb they were all getting ready, the guys were hanging out downstairs and the girls were getting ready upstairs with the help of some Mimosas! I loved the detail on Melissa’s dress and the colors of her bridesmaid’s dresses were so beautiful! Also shoutout to Generation Tux for Matt’s suit! Matt and Melissa read some vows in private before their first look! This honestly was the sweetest thing at their wedding and I highly recommend writing and reading love letters to each other on the morning of your big day! It’s a really private moment you’ll remember forever!

The Airbnb they stayed in was luckily next to this beautiful fairytale-like bridge which made for the perfect backdrop for an intimate first look. There were some tears shed and a lot of hugs! I love first looks so much because it gives you even more time to hangout with your soon-to-be on your wedding day! I’m also a big advocate for spending as much time as possible with your fiance on your wedding day.

The ceremony spot was beautiful! It was tucked away down a small path near the campsite in some tall trees with some surrounding open fields. I love how private this venue was! After a short and sweet ceremony, complete with two of the cutest dogs walking down the aisle, Melissa and Matt shared their first kiss and let the party begin! Having only close family and friends at your ceremony is also an awesome way to keeps more intimate!

I can honestly say this was probably one of the most fun and relaxed wedding receptions I’ve ever been to! There were volleyball courts, board games (which I was stoked about because I’m a huge board game nerd), bags/corn hole/whatever you call it, self-serve beer taps, a fire pit, and even a popcorn bar!! I’m always here for a good pizza cheer! Shout out to Happy Pappy’s for catering this super fun outdoor wedding, the pizza was delicious! Congruations Matt and Melissa, so excited I got to capture your big day for you!
